During this session, panelists discussed the impact of the absence of health equity by highlighting the latest data documenting disparities in health, health care and health care spending. Panelists defined health equity, and presented it not only as a public health and social justice issue, but as an economic issue as well. Additionally, panelists explored why health equity is a necessary health care goal that we - as a nation - should strive to achieve. Following the presentations, a Q&A session occurred.
